Horizontal Directional Drilling

Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) offers several advantages. It can navigate pipe around obstacles in unforeseen ground conditions with minimal impact on the environment, making it particularly suitable for sensitive terrain. HDD also requires minimal excavation, as entry and exit points and equipment are maintained above ground. Additionally, it is capable of drilling in varying ground conditions, ensuring flexibility and reliability in diverse settings.

Our capabilities at Atlas Trenchless include:
– Capable of installing pipe up to 48” in diameter

– Drill lengths over 6,000 LF and intersect capabilities

– Drill rigs from 100,000 to 500,000 lbs. of drilling thrust/pullback force

Our Areas of Expertise includes but is not limited too:
– Rock Drilling
– HDD
– Experience working in all shale formations with expertise in Utica,
– Marcellus and Bakken
– Changing and challenging ground conditions
– Challenging river crossings

Boring Methods

Trenchless technologies have come a long way,
but auger boring is still a tried and true method of utility installation.
Atlas Trenchless is capable to successfully perform the following boring methods on any of your projects:

Auger Boring
– Capable of installing 12”-72” diameter pipe
– Drill lengths up to 400 LF

Tunneling
– Capable of installing any length of 45”-120” diameter pipe
– Install through soft ground, clay and rock conditions
– Experience with steel casing, liner plate, and rib and lagging

Guided Boring
– Capable of installing 12”-72” diameter pipe
– Drill lengths up to 400 LF

Pipe Ramming
– Capable of installing 24”-72” diameter pipe
– Drill lengths up to 300 LF
– Install through all ground conditions
– Utilizes Akkerman GBM system to ensure line and grade pipe ramming
